Rail passengers in Bulwell are set to benefit from double the number of Sunday train services as East Midlands Trains launches its new Winter timetable.

From the timetable change on Sunday 12 December, all trains to and from Nottingham will call at Bulwell on Sundays, increasing the number of Sunday services from 10 services per day to 20.

To mark the launch of the new improved timetable, Councillor Alan Clark, Nottingham City Council’s portfolio holder for Neighbourhood Regeneration joined David Horne, Customer Service Director for East Midlands Trains.

David Horne, Customer Service Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “Over the past two years, passengers travelling on our Robin Hood Line services have benefitted from some significant improvements to their timetable.  In December 2008, East Midlands Trains launched Sunday services on the Robin Hood Line services for the first time in over 40 years and more recently we started to roll out these services to passengers in Bulwell.

“We’re delighted that as a result of our successful partnership with Nottingham City Council, we’ve been able to extend our Sunday services even further with all services along the Robin Hood line now calling at Bulwell every Sunday.

“We hope passengers will take advantage of these additional train services to take a trip into Nottingham for that last bit of Christmas shopping or even as an opportunity to travel northbound on the Robin Hood Line to Mansfield.”

Councillor Alan Clarke from Nottingham City Council, added: “We’re really pleased to get to this point where all trains on a Sunday are now calling at Bulwell.  This is the result of a whole range of investments over the last few years that have made it practically possible.

“This opens up train services in both directions all along the Robin Hood Line to people in Bulwell.”

In the new timetable, the following services will call at Bulwell on Sundays:

Services to Nottingham - departing from Bulwell at:
0903, 1032, 1130, 1233, 1432, 1631,1734, 1933, 2036, 2139

Services from Nottingham to Bulwell - departing Nottingham at:
0753, 0825, 0925, 1124, 1325, 1425, 1625, 1727, 1927, 2027

Services from Bulwell to Mansfield – departing Bulwell at:
0803, 0834, 0934, 1135, 1334, 1436, 1636, 1738, 1938, 2041
