Worldspan Shows Travel Agents

LAS VEGAS—Worldspan is guiding travel agents to new heights with an array of automation solutions and Web-based technology on display at the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) 70th World Travel Congress, taking place September 24-29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Worldspan Go!® and our new Worldspan on the WebSM infrastructure are designed to help travel agents go farther in building their businesses, which is precisely why we’ve chosen ‘Go! Farther with Worldspan’ as our theme at this year’s ASTA convention,” commented Mike Parks, senior vice president and general manager - Worldwide Travel Distribution for Worldspan. “We invite all ASTA participants to visit us at the Worldspan booth during the show for a demonstration of how they really can go farther with Worldspan technology.”
When ASTA delegates visit the booth (No. 1143) for a demonstration of one or more Worldspan products, they will receive a free Worldspan sports watch, perfect for measuring their pace in the climb to success.
To further signify its role in helping agents reach the pinnacle of their profession, Worldspan will feature a rock-climbing wall and hand out Worldspan energy bars, mints and bottled water at its booth throughout the show. Visitors to the booth can test their climbing skills on The Rock, a programmable, adjustable climbing wall featuring custom-designed handholds and toeholds positioned on a rotating 10 ft. x 8 ft. climbing surface.
Worldspan staff, outfitted in hiking attire, and trained climbers will be on hand to guide the journey. For informative reading after their climb, visitors will also receive a free copy of the Worldspan Plus Guide to Consulting.
Again this year, Worldspan is a sponsor in the ASTA World Travel Pursuit Passport Game, which encourages ASTA delegates to visit as many of the show’s exhibits as possible. When they stop by the Worldspan booth, participants in the Passport Game may register to win, courtesy of Worldspan, a portable Garmin StreetPilot GPS (Global Positioning System) ColorMap—like Worldspan Go! itself, a very useful navigational tool for agents who want to Go! Farther.
Worldspan’s Go! Farther technology showcase at ASTA includes:
Worldspan Go!®: The Go! platform combines dedicated access to the Worldspan reservation system with Internet connectivity to additional Web-based suppliers and travel content, along with worldwide e-mail and fax capabilities.
Worldspan on the Web: Worldspan’s new Web-based infrastructure will enable Worldspan Go! customers to find and book unique Internet-based travel products the world over, including tours, shows, events, golf tee times, restaurants, resort-based business seminars, air charter services and more. Internet bookings are merged into a single traveler itinerary with airline, car and hotel bookings.
Web AirFare: The ultimate Web-based pricing tool, Web AirFare enables travel agents to quickly check published fares, negotiated fares and Internet-only fares in a single process. Web AirFare searches for fares by origin and destination cities and specific airlines, then provides a single screen display of a carrier’s Internet fares and published fares.
My Trip and More: This innovative new Web site allows travel agents to provide clients with instant online access to travel plans 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the Internet. My Trip and More electronic itineraries include global distribution system (GDS) bookings as well as Worldspan on the Web bookings.

Worldspan Wireless Technology: In conjunction with leading wireless providers, Worldspan offers customers wireless access to reservations and an array of travel content via Web-enabled wireless devices, including mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs).
