has launched a major new online booking system, which will move the airline a step closer to total operational independence from parent company bmi.

The Open Skies system by Navitaire
is the international reservations platform of choice for the world’s leading low cost airlines, such as Go and JetBlue will ensure a speedier booking and check-in process for bmibaby passengers.

bmibaby is also looking to the future and will shortly be applying to the Civil Aviation Authority for an air operators certificate so it can operationally stand alone as an independent airline.

The tie in with Minnesota based, Navitaire, comes in advance of the launch of the bmibaby winter schedule, which will see the new low cost airline serving a network of 22 European destinations from East Midlands Airport and nine destinations from Cardiff International Airport.
