America West Airlines Launches Fare Sale

America West Airlines , the second largest low-fare carrier in the U.S.,
announced today that it is offering special fares on its nonstop
coast-to-coast flights starting at $79 each way, based on a roundtrip
purchase. America West offers nonstop flights between New York/JFK on the
East Coast and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco
International Airport on the West Coast. The airline also provides nonstop
service between Boston Logan International Airport and LAX, and will begin
nonstop service between Boston and San Francisco on March 1. In addition,
customers can take advantage of these special low fares and America West`s
unique stop-over program which allows customers on connecting flights
between those markets to stay over in the airline`s Phoenix or Las Vegas
hubs for business or pleasure.

“In addition to offering these incredibly low fares, America West also
offers a full range of services not found on most low-cost carriers, such
as first-class seating, advance seat assignments and our award-winning
frequent flyer program, FlightFund,” said Scott Bowers, vice president,
revenue management. “Only America West can offer customers the ability to
make a connection in Phoenix to play golf or in Las Vegas to play cards,
craps or slots.”
Tickets for this fare sale must be purchased by Feb. 10, 2004 for travel
on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays through April 14, 2004. A $100 stop-
over fee applies for customers who choose to make a stop in Phoenix or Las
Vegas.

Prior to America West announcing service in these transcontinental
markets, customers were paying four times as much for business fares on
other airlines. Fulfilling its commitment to offer customers the right
airports at the right price, America West Airlines now offers everyday
business-friendly fares as low as $159 one way for coach and $499 one way
for first class. Customers will also appreciate the airline`s flexible
ticketing policies including no Saturday night stay requirements, the
ability to fly standby on the same day as their originally scheduled
flight without an additional fee, and the option to use a nonrefundable
ticket within a year of the date of purchase.
