Gulf Air President For IATA Council

H.E. Ibrahim Adbulla AlHamer, Persident and Chief Executive of Gulf Air, has been elected to represent the Arab-owned Airlines on the international AirTransport Association (IATA) Council for 2002.

He was invited to consider this role during a recent meeting in Bahrain with Mr. Abudl Wahab Tiffah, Director General meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO). This meeting also discussed the agenda for the General Assembly of AACO, taking place in Doha in May 2001. Tabled items include reservation automation, airport services and e-Trade.

There are 20 Arab Airlines in membership of IATA and AACO. IATA was formed in 1965 and Gulf Air became a member in 1980. ,
