New Luxurious Spa Suites to open May 2009

May 2009 sees the much anticipated opening of 56 new Spa Suites at Switzerland’s Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, one of the Europe’s leading health retreats. Housed in a separate new tower-style building, the new Spa Suites come complete with butler service and each features a private wellness oasis bathroom with mineral water on tap! No expense has been spared in creating a contemporary stylish look, combining clean lines and neutral tones with natural woods and stones, to create a feeling of utter tranquility.

The new Spa Suites, affectionately known as the ‘Spa Tower’, are incredibly spacious, ranging in size from 60m? to 440m?, and all feature a balcony with beautiful mountain views. Many Suites also feature a private sauna and steam shower and the vast Penthouse Suite (440m?) offers a private terrace and whirlpool in addition to a sauna, separate dining room with Roberto Cavalli furniture, kitchen, living room and private fitness room. Butlers will be on hand to attend to guests’ every need; from running a relaxing bubble bath to arranging local activities and excursions.

Each bathroom is a haven of relaxation with a contemporary freestanding bathtub, steam bath and whirlpool. The local Bad Ragaz mineral water is on tap allowing guests to enjoy the health benefits of the thermal spring water (sourced at Europe’s largest acrothermal spring) in the privacy of their own Suite.

The Spa Suites will enjoy private walkway access to the To B. Wellbeing & Spa, 5,500 square metres of spa indulgence! Here, guests can enjoy a range of treatments from the worlds’ most luxurious beauty brands: La Prairie, Sisley and Carita; as well as steam baths, aroma cabins, fresh water whirlpools, roman baths, a Kneipp circuit (a cave-like room full of thermal water in which guests can walk to stimulate blood circulation), the latest fitness equipment and personal trainers.

The Medical Health Centre and Tamina Therme are also adjacent to the luxury Spa Suites. The Medical Health Centre enjoys an international reputation and has a staff of 10 doctors and 30 therapists. Its services range from physiotherapy, psychotherapy, diagnosis and rehabilitation to cosmetic medicine and plastic surgery. The Tamina Therme at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz will reopen in June 2009 following a total refurbishment. Europe’s largest acrothermal spring was discovered in the middle ages in the nearby Tamina Gorge. Since 1840 this pure, warm water has been piped down to Bad Ragaz for guests to enjoy the hot spring waters (36.5˚C) and health benefits from the high mineral content.
