SAS signs on Expedia Private Label

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has signed an agreement with Expedia Private Label site WWTE that will see the online travel company supplying hotels to travellers booking through the carrier’s website.
The partnership means that SAS customers can now book hotels as well as flights on the airline’s website in a one-stop booking process.

Lars Schönnings, Manager Travel Related Partnerships at SAS, says: “We are very pleased to have signed this partnership, which will mean that we continue to develop our business in the hotels market.  In addition to WWTE’s broad and varied range of hotels and the special deals they can offer, the company delivers strong know-how in terms of sales technology on the Internet.

“The deal opens opportunities for us to create more new dynamic solutions for hotel bookings: an important component in the range of ancillary revenue generation opportunities we are creating.  The partnership has already delivered great results for both parties.  Our focus will now be on developing additional dynamic features and special offers.”

Karen Bohannon, managing director of Expedia Private Label, said: “As one of Europe’s biggest airlines, SAS Scandinavian Airlines has created a strong brand and is a leader in its market.  The addition of Expedia’s unrivalled international hotel supply will enhance an already strong product offering on the site and means that travellers can get the best offers and deals now.

“From the Expedia Private Label point of view, this is another excellent win for us in the airline arena.  We are now working with a large number of carriers in Europe and internationally and are delivering substantial revenue gains to the Expedia group as a whole.”
