Bahrain opens $4.5mn spa in Manama

Bahrain’s National Hotels Company will open its US $ 4.5 million spa in Manama next year. The Diplomat Spa, managed by Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first class brand of The Rezidor Hotel Group, will be the largest in the capital when complete in February 2007.

It will be in the heart of Manama and will also house the country’s largest gymnasium.

The state-of-the-art spa will be at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Residence due to open later this month, adjacent to the existing 246-room, five star Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, and close to Manama’s main tourist and shopping attractions. The hotel, residence and spa are owned by National Hotels Company.

‘The Diplomat Spa is being developed in conjunction with one of the Far East’s top spas and is a key project for us. We anticipate it will draw guests from throughout the Middle East,’ said A. Rahman Morshed, General Manager, National Hotels Company.

The new spa will have a separate male spa, a ladies-only indoor pool, 11 female treatment rooms, six men’s treatment rooms, three outdoor pools, a 280 metre feature lagoon pool, state-of-the-art male and female gymnasiums, sophisticated steam and sauna rooms, jacuzzi and cold pool facilities, an open-air tennis court and two indoor squash courts.

‘The therapists will be trained in Radisson SAS corporate values including our ‘Yes I Can!’ spirit of service and 100% guest satisfaction guarantee.’

The Diplomat Spa will also have bespoke packages designed specifically for business executives, as well as electrotherapy or medi-cosmetic treatments including anti-wrinkle and uplifting facial courses and slimming and anti-cellulite body procedures.
