André Boersma has been appointed as Senior Vice President and General Manager of One&Only Ocean Club.  Mr. Boersma’s new position at One&Only Ocean Club will begin as of August 15, 2005.  He comes to the resort after a successful two-year tenure as Resident Manager of the highly-acclaimed One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Prior to joining One&Only Palmilla, Mr. Boersma was the Resident Manager of Esperanza Resort and Las Ventanas al Paraiso, both located in Los Cabos, Mexico.  Mr. Boersma has more than 15 years of experience in the international luxury resort industry.  In addition to his experience in Mexico, he has worked in destinations such as Mallorca, Spain; the People’s Republic of China, and Canada.  Boersma studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, B.C. 

Mr. Boersma was an integral part of the One&Only Palmilla pre-opening team that developed the extraordinary 172-room property into the premier luxury resort in Los Cabos.  Mr. Boersma helped to establish One&Only Palmilla’s unparalleled reputation for luxury and impeccable service.  “After the successful opening of One&Only Palmilla, I look forward to bringing my experiences to One&Only Ocean Club and am delighted to be a part of this legendary resort,” stated Boersma.

Mr. Boersma replaces former One&Only Ocean Club General Manager Russell Miller, who was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of the new Condo-Hotel being constructed at Atlantis, Paradise Island resort, The Bahamas.
