Ballymore Goes Radisson Edwardian

Ballymore has appointed Radisson Edwardian Hotels to operate a 4-star, 169-bedroom hotel at its award winning ‘New Providence Wharf’ development in London’s Docklands. The riverside hotel, which will be operated by REH under a long-term management contract, is due to open in 2007 and will fulfil the increasing demand for luxury accommodation and facilities in the Canary Wharf area.
The hotel will comprise an 8-storey building connected via a triple height glass atrium to the base of the development’s iconic 30 storey ‘Ontario Tower’. ÊDesigned by Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), the hotel will have a curved glass, stainless steel and terracotta façade to complement the development’s existing buildings and a contemporary interior designed by Aukett.

The hotel will include comprehensive facilities including a health spa, brasserie, river view restaurant with terrace and a cocktail bar and also provide hotel services to residents of the neighbouring New Providence Wharf buildings. There will also be a full range of business facilities including conference, meeting and banqueting rooms. Ê

Jasminder Singh, Founder & Chairman of REH comments: “We are particularly excited by this project. As a major supplier of deluxe hotel accommodation, we want to continue to provide a comprehensive coverage of London for all our customers. There is no doubt that they have a strong need for quality accommodation in one of the world’s fastest emerging financial districts.”

Jonathan Haigh, Head of Commercial Development at Ballymore comments: “It has always been our intention to appoint a high quality operator to manage the hotel at New Providence Wharf. We are delighted to have secured Radisson Edwardian Hotels as we believe that its focus on the customer and ethos of providing luxury accommodation without pretension perfectly matches our vision for the completed development.”
