The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced today that Avocet Travel, a tour operator specializing in Bahia, has signed on as a Signature Sponsor of ASTA’s 2005 Study Tour Conference in Bahia, Brazil on March 13-19.

“We’re excited to count Avocet Travel as one of the sponsors of this year’s educational study tour,” said ASTA President and CEO Kathy Sudeikis, CTC. “We are glad to be partnering with Avocet, as experts with regard to travel in and around Bahia, to expose American travel agents and travelers to a wonderful and relatively untapped tourism market.”

“Avocet Travel is proud to be a sponsor of the ASTA Bahia Study Tour Conference because ASTA promotes responsible tourism and has a commitment of valuing human resources, culture and the environment,” said Clarence O. Smith, chairman and CEO of Avocet Travel. “As the leading marketer of this great travel destination, we appreciate the opportunity to showcase Bahia.”

The company will also be one of the exhibitors at the trade show on March 14 where local travel and tourism vendors will showcase their products.
