Bonaire Dive Festival cancelled to make room for improvements
Divers are being faced with a dilemma this summer as one of the world’s premier dive festivals has been postponed in order to reinvent the event so that its net catches a wider variety of attendees. The Bonaire Dive Festival has been backdated until 2006 so that the necessary improvements can be implemented.Since its inception in 1997 during the International Year of the Reef, The Bonaire Dive Festival has drawn many avid divers and conservation enthusiasts to the Island to experience Bonaire’s natural treasures and learn first hand what they could do to protect them.
However, in an effort to keep current with an ever-changing marketplace, Bonaire feels that it is time to review and re-evaluate the event This will give Bonaire and its stakeholders the opportunity to restructure the Festival so that it appeals to a wider range of people
As these efforts require time, the decision has been made to take this year to update the event, and hold the next Festival in 2006.
