Northwest Airlines Announces New Seasonal Service

Northwest Airlines today
announced new seasonal nonstop service between its hub at Detroit and
Bermuda. The flights will operate on Saturdays from April 9 through Aug.
20, 2005. “Northwest Airlines is pleased to add Bermuda to its growing global
network,” said Tom Bach, vice president of market planning and Airlink.
“This seasonal service will provide a convenient way for our customers
throughout the Midwest to enjoy Bermuda’s famous beaches and world-class
charm. Passengers traveling through our renowned WorldGateway hub at
Detroit will find quick and convenient connections to cities throughout
the United States and Canada.”

Northwest previously served Bermuda seasonally in 1994.

“Speaking on behalf of the government and people of Bermuda, it gives me
great pleasure to welcome back Northwest Airlines to Bermuda,” said the
Hon. Ewart F. Brown, deputy premier of Bermuda and minister of transport
and tourism. “We are delighted that Northwest Airlines will offer new,
nonstop Detroit-Bermuda service this summer, which will help make Bermuda
a convenient and appealing international destination in the ‘Motor City’
region and beyond on Northwest’s excellent network of convenient
connections at Detroit.”

The new flights will be operated with Northwest’s Airbus A320 aircraft,
with 16 seats in first class and 132 seats in coach class. Flight 1978
will depart Detroit at 10:25 a.m., and arrive in Bermuda at 2:42 p.m. On
the return, flight 1979 will depart Bermuda at 3:50 p.m., and arrive in
Detroit at 5:57 p.m.

Bermuda will be the 27th international destination served from Detroit,
bringing to 160 the number of destinations served from Northwest’s
efficient and passenger-friendly WorldGateway hub.
