Amadeus
has signed one of the UK’s premier leisure travel operators, First Choice Independent Travel (Unijet).Ê This latest signing further reinforces Amadeus’ position as the GDS with the strongest leisure offering in the UK market.Ê

ÊCommenting on the company’s decision to switch to Amadeus, Kyle Haughton, managing director for First Choice Independent Travel said “A major commitment of time and effort on the parts of both First Choice and Amadeus has gone into this agreement.Ê We both view this as the beginning of a strategic and fruitful partnership, rather than the traditional customer/supplier relationship and we are confident that we have made the right decision by choosing Amadeus. Before selecting Amadeus as its technology partner, First Choice Independent Travel performed a detailed analysis to evaluate each of the GDS leisure solutions available in the UK.Ê Amadeus offered a tailored solution, which will enhance both the agents’ booking experience - through an improved graphical user interface (GUI) with the broadest range of airline content - as well as the end consumers’ experience - through improved speed and data accuracy.Ê
