More than 3,500 franchise owners, operators and company officials attended
the conference. An award trophy and medallion were presented in
recognition of her exemplary service. This was an honor bestowed upon the
very best of over 900 housekeeping managers.

Nominees were selected based on performance that goes above and beyond
day-to-day job responsibilities, outstanding and unusual service to the
property, guests and the community. Rivas received this great honor during
a year in which she not only assumed responsibility for housekeeping, but
within the maintenance department as well.

“We all face dilemmas,” said General Manager Andy Crowel, “but what truly
separates the award winners from the rest is the driving passion and
tenacity to do what is right, no matter how difficult it may be.”
