Aruba prepares for CTC-27

A series of provocative and relevant issues will be raised at the first working session of the 27th Annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-27) which takes place in Aruba from Oct. 17-20, 2004.During the 90-minute discussion, entitled: By Air, By Land, By Sea - Industry Analysts Present the Facts, leading tourism industry analysts and practitioners will examine the trends and the economic impact of key tourism segments. At the same time they will help the delegates interpret the numbers which show that the purchase of Caribbean holidays by consumers worldwide has shown encouraging increases since 2003.

Some of the issues that will be raised include whether these increases are sustainable, profitable, and accessible to all segments of Caribbean tourism; whether the Caribbean is truly attracting its fair share and who the new consumers of travel are and what they seek.

“Experts say that understanding consumer buying habits and indeed, anticipating them is one of the keys to success,” says Karen Ford-Warner, CTO’s secretary general (Ag). “This is what we are seeking to do at this session.”
