Holiday Inn Heathrow Celebrates 4th Birthday

Staff members at the 230-room Holiday Inn London - Heathrow have celebrated their 4th birthday in style with a party and champagne in the hotel’s Wings restaurant. Holiday Inn London - Heathrow opened on August 11th 2000, and was the first property from Glasgow-based BDL Hotel Group. The hotel’s success in its early years, including winning BDL’s Hotel of the Year award in January, is particularly impressive given the tough market conditions after September 11th. Neil Taylor commented, “No-one would dispute that the Heathrow hotel market has been particularly competitive over the last few years, which makes me particularly proud to be at the helm of such a young and successful property.”

Taylor attributes a lot of success to the hotel’s staff, “The quality of accommodation at Holiday Inn London - Heathrow is very high thanks to BDL’s exacting standards but a lot of our success comes down to the staff, who are committed to providing great service. We have a real family atmosphere here, and the fact that we have a number of team members who have been working at the hotel since before it even opened is testament to this.”

Holiday Inn London - Heathrow (www.holidayinnheathrow.co.uk) is the closest Holiday Inn to Heathrow airport and features extensive meeting facilities, mini-gym, Wings restaurant and licensed bar. The hotel is located on Bath Road, Heathrow and is easily accessed by public transport or car from the M4, M25 and M40.

Holiday Inn London - Heathrow’s success and reputation have contributed greatly to the growth of BDL Hotel Group, which will open its 17th hotel, Express by Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead, in October. The Group has grown exponentially both organically and through acquisition, and has recently announced plans to open an Express by Holiday Inn property in Newcastle city centre in summer 2005.
