Wotif.com has announced the appointment of Matthew Harris as UK Manager and the relocation of its European headquarters to central London. ÊAt Wotif.com, Matthew will be responsible for the new strategic direction, managing operations, expansion of inventory and supplier relations.
Matthew joins Wotif.com after a ten-year career in the hotel industry for Forte Group and the Scotsman Hotel Group among others, with his most recent position as Revenue Manager of The Strand Hotel. In this role he focused on maximising sales through forming marketing alliances, using online yield management tools and creating a product suitable for business and leisure travellers alike. Ê

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said: “I am excited about the opportunity ahead. ÊWotif.com meets the demands and growing trend fuelled by budget airline carriers, of British travellers booking last-minute accommodation independently from their flights online. ÊThis trend, combined with Wotif.com’s new strategy and huge product range, will quickly fuel our growth. ÊI look forward to driving this success with our current and future suppliers.”

Wotif.com CEO and Founder, Graeme Wood stated: “Our strategy is to keep things simple and deliver great value last-minute accommodation. ÊThe UK is a key market in our international expansion and we find that 90% of our business is coming from repeat custom and word-of-mouth referrals. This quality of service speaks for itself. ÊTo drive business in the UK market, we will concentrate on demand generation activities, consolidate our inventory and build key partnerships. ÊMatt’s in-depth hotel industry experience will leverage this and we welcome him onboard.”
