United Airlines and Safeway Team Up

  United Airlines today announced
that customers in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia who enroll in
Mileage Plus(R) and GroceryMiles(R), a joint program with United and
Safeway, will earn a $25 discount travel certificate from United. The
United discount travel certificate may be applied to United, United
Express or Ted operated flights within the 50 United States, Puerto Rico,
the U.S. Virgin Islands or Canada. In addition, GroceryMiles members will
earn Mileage Plus miles each time their cumulative qualifying grocery
purchases reach $250.
“United offers more flights to more destinations from the Washington area
than any other airline. Our partnership with Safeway through the
GroceryMiles program is a great way for customers to top off their Mileage
Plus accounts and earn a free upgrade or roundtrip ticket,” said Arnold
Lewis, vice president - Marketing Programs and president - UAL Loyalty
Services. “And those customers who have not yet joined GroceryMiles
receive an additional benefit—$25 off their next domestic flight on
United, United Express or Ted.”

Customers can join the GroceryMiles program at participating Safeway
stores or online at http://www.grocerymiles.com/dc . To qualify for the
$25 United discount travel certificate, enrollment must occur between May
10, 2004 and June 10, 2004. Minimum fare, booking class and other
restrictions may apply. For details, go to http://www.grocerymiles.com/dc .
