American Continues Growth of the Miami Hub

To further strengthen the Miami hub, American Airlines announced today
that it will begin nonstop daily service to the Caribbean island of St.
Lucia on Nov. 1.
American will fly the route with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring
seating for 16 Business-Class and 126 Coach-Class passengers. This is one
of the newest aircraft in American’s fleet.

“This new service underscores our commitment to Miami. Fifteen years ago,
we established the Miami hub, and today we continue to serve this
important gateway, which is our premier hub to Latin America and the
Caribbean,” said Peter J. Dolara, American’s senior vice-president for
Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America.

St. Lucia has some of the world’s most beautiful scenery, including
splendid forests and soaring peaks, ancient fortresses, enchanting fishing
villages and gracious town squares. One of the Windward Islands of the
Lesser Antilles, St. Lucia is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean
chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent, and north of Barbados.
