The carrier bmi has selected Mercator
to deliver the consultancy needed to implement the Oracle Financials and Procurement solutions across its business. The success of the project is critical to bmi’s ambitious expansion plans.
Oracle Financials, with its extensive functionality comprising general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and cash management modules, is set to transform bmi’s financial and accounting operations.

Oracle Procurement will streamline and automate the entire procurement process, from the sourcing of suppliers through to workflow based internal approvals.

bmi’s senior management expects Oracle to standardise and simplify processes, enabling the financial and procurement areas to work seamlessly together. Costs will be cut, with productivity and efficiency being boosted.

Nigel Turner, bmi’s CFO said, “This implementation of Oracle solutions is absolutely core to the success of our future strategy, as it supports our ongoing process review and cost reduction strategy while supporting the growth of new businesses, such as bmibaby.

“It’s vital that we roll this out on time and on budget. This is why we picked Mercator - their airline experience and a number of successful Oracle implementations were key factors in our decision”
