Brazil Tourist Board set to select new EBT agency by June
The Brazil Tourist Board (Embratur) has announced it expects to select a new agency that will install Brazilian Tourism Offices Abroad (EBTs) in 13 countries, including the UK, by June after it put the contract out to tender.
The EBTs, responsible for promoting tourism to Brazil in their local market, will be based in South America, North America, Europe and Asia.
In Europe, seven units in total are expected to be installed including London (United Kingdom) Amsterdam (Netherlands), Frankfurt (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Paris (France), Milan (Italy), and Lisbon (Portugal).
Marcelo Pedroso, director of international markets for Embratur, said: “Our expectation is that by June we will have the selected firm and able to begin deployment of the offices.
“In the second half, we return to a daily relationship with our EBT network in the markets.”
There are also plans for two EBTs in South America, three in North America and one in Asia.
The EBTs provide technical services specialising in relationship marketing and mapping Brazil’s international tourism market.
“Our goal is to seek a better positioning of the Brazilian tourism products in these countries and Brazil as a tourist destination in the international arena,” concluded Pedroso.
