Another record year for Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa

Another record year for Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa

Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa has for the third year running delivered record figures, a year on year increase in sales of 12 per cent and profits up by 24 per cent.  The 338 bedroom, four star hotel, has seen a growth in revenue per available room (RevPAR) of 11 per cent, driven by an occupancy increase of 8 per cent.

Explaining the impressive figures, Paul Hutton, Sales Manager at Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa believes; “The hotel’s success can be equated to its increasingly loyal corporate client base and a growing awareness of the hotel’s excellent meeting facilities within the region. This has resulted in a series of significant business wins including events in conjunction with the recent Labour Party Conference.”

Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa’s strong performance is further underlined in a stark contrast to the findings of the recent ‘City Review’ report compiled by Christie & Co in partnership with STR Global. The report found that Manchester’s hotel sector is currently operating in difficult micro-economic conditions where monthly performance has been identified as somewhat erratic and numerous hotel developments placed on hold.

Steve Dunford, General Manager at Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa concludes; “Although we are continuing to operate in what is a difficult economic climate it is encouraging to see that in light of this we have achieved our most successful trading year since opening. At the heart of this success is our team who work tirelessly to ensure that we consistently offer our customers great levels of service and value for money across all of our operations.”
