Due to the earthquake that has affected Japan, American Airlines continues to offer customers the convenience to change their travel plans as listed below. In addition, American said today that, as an added convenience, customers eligible for refunds may now receive their refund to their original form of payment. 

The ticket reissue charge will be waived for one ticket change. To change travel dates or for questions regarding refunds or destination changes, contact your travel agency or American’s Reservations personnel at 1-800-433-7300 within the United States or Canada. Japanese-speaking callers, please call 1-800-237-0027 from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. midnight (U.S. Central Time) daily.
