Air Europa offers new flights to Montevideo

Air Europa has launched a new route to Montevideo, capital city or Uruguay.

The airline now operates three flights a week from London Gatwick via Madrid.

With this service, the airline opens up a new gateway for UK leisure and business travellers to one of Latin America’s fastest growing tourist destinations.

Uruguay is home to such treasures as elegant Montevideo and the luxurious coastal resorts of Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio.

Air Europa is renowned for connecting UK travellers to Latin America with highly competitive prices, generous baggage allowance and quick connection times.

This new long-haul service will further expand the airline’s portfolio in the region to six destinations.

Colin Stewart, UK general manager, Air Europa, said: “This new route to Montevideo once again confirms our commitment to connecting our passengers with key economic and tourist destinations in Latin America.

“Just last November we launched flights to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and with this latest service we are cementing our position as the airline of choice to Latin
America.”

Air Europa’s decision to fly to Montevideo has also been highly praised by the Uruguayan ambassador in London, HE Julio Moreira Morán.

The ambassador added: “My heartfelt congratulations to Air Europa, as they have shown that smaller countries can also be very good for business.

“Uruguay is one of the fastest growing destinations for the UK market, and Montevideo is the perfect gateway for UK leisure and business travellers to our country.”
