Cuba holidays launches new “Mi Casa Es Tu Casa” tour

Offering travellers a unique immersion in Cuba with all the cultural trimmings, Cuba holidays is diving head-first into the concept of people-to-people travel with an innovative new tour including overnight stays at locals´ private homes, otherwise known as “casas particulares”. The comprehensive tour with stops at Havana, Vinales, Trinidad and Varadero will give holidaymakers the chance to interact with their Cuban hosts and experience a fuller Cuban flavour.

Serving Cuba on a silver platter to inquisitive holidaymakers who appreciate getting up-close and personal with the locals, participating in regional customs and traditions, learning from meaningful interactions with Cubans and generally feeling like a native during their travels, Cuba holidays is bringing about a comprehensive 10-day tour with stays at “casas particulares” - Cuba´s version of B&Bs.

The newly launched “Mi Casa Es Tu Casa” tour takes visitors on a captivating journey along Cuba’s western jewels, with overnight stays at private homes where the hosts make every effort to charm guests and treat them to a personalised service that often includes delicious homemade meals, enriching chats and top tips on what to see and do in the area that only a local could give.

The tour includes stops at Cuba´s holy trinity of Havana, Trinidad, Varadero plus an additional bonus with a stopover in the UNESCO-listed Vinales Valley and a brief but insightful hop to Santa Clara on your way to Varadero at the end of the 10-day tour.

But “Mi Casa Es Tu Casa” doesn’t stop at just including the travelling means (by coach transfer) and the lodging at “casas particulares”. It goes above and beyond to also include a full itinerary of activities with guided tours along all of the main places visited; as well as plenty of spare time to take it all in, at travellers’ own leisurely pace.

The perfect blend between a guided and unguided experience, Cuba holidays’ new “Mi Casa Es Tu Casa” tour gives plenty of room to customise your time in each of the Cuban destinations it stops at, so that you can roam free as you wish in each of the locations visited.

It all starts off in Havana, where after your arrival in the evening you’ll be transferred to rest that jetlag off at Casa Blue Colonial. The second day in the capital involves a city tour around Havana’s historic centre before lunch and the rest of the day to spend as you like. It’s off to Vinales the following day where you’ll be taken to gaze in amazement at the awe-inspiring “mogotes” (flat-topped rock formations) and its lush surrounding landscape before enjoying an overnight stay at Villa Los Crotons. Next you’ll be transferred to Trinidad where you’ll have plenty of time to absorb the local charm on your own time (and in your own terms) before enjoying a morning tour of the city’s most prominent sights the next day. After sleeping all that sightseeing off at Casa Colonial Felix, the following day brings another fresh opportunity to do some sightseeing on your own, soak up the 18th century enchantment and explore beyond. Next day it’s off to Varadero’s famous seven-kilometre-long paradisiacal beach, but before you get there you’ll make a brief stop in Santa Clara, to pay a visit to the ‘Che’ Mausoleum and enjoy a tasty lunch in a local restaurant. The last two days of your trip will be spent basking on Varadero’s sparkling white sands and letting all the wonders you’ve just witnessed sink in before catching your flight back home.

All throughout you’ll get to enjoy the most scenic views of the Cuban countryside as you make your way on the road, passing rural villages, cane fields and more.

With the element of staying at “casas particulares” being an experience in its own right, this one-of-a-kind tour is the best way to absorb all of Cuba’s beauty and flair, from the helping hand of a friendly local always eager to please and put a smile on your face.
