AMOH Rhodes: A New Greek Icon of Luxury Sets Its Sights on World Travel Awards Glory
The Greek island of Rhodes has long captivated travellers with its timeless blend of ancient history, golden beaches and sparkling Aegean waters. Now, the island has a dazzling new address that is already making waves on the international luxury travel scene.
Just months after welcoming its first guests, AMOH, a Luxury Collection Resort, Rhodes has earned two prestigious nominations at the 2026 World Travel Awards, recognised as a contender for Europe’s Leading New Resort while its spectacular Rhoda Presidential Suite has been shortlisted for Greece’s Leading Hotel Suite.
Nestled on a secluded peninsula close to the historic village of Lindos, AMOH represents a fresh interpretation of Mediterranean luxury. Designed to embrace the natural beauty of Rhodes rather than compete with it, the resort combines contemporary architecture with authentic local craftsmanship, creating an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and unmistakably Greek.

From the moment guests arrive, the resort delivers an effortless sense of tranquillity. Sweeping sea views, hidden coves and elegant terraces frame every corner of the property, while interiors inspired by local stone, warm earth tones and natural textures reflect the island’s rich heritage.
Accommodation ranges from beautifully appointed guest rooms to expansive private pool suites, each designed to maximise space, light and uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean. Many feature generous outdoor living areas where mornings begin with sunrise over the Aegean and evenings end beneath spectacular star-filled skies.
At the pinnacle of the resort sits the magnificent Rhoda Presidential Suite, a 178-square-metre sanctuary named after the mythical patron goddess of Rhodes. Complete with an elegant living room, king-sized bedroom, expansive furnished terrace and private pool overlooking the sea, the suite offers an exclusive retreat designed for travellers seeking absolute privacy and personalised luxury. It is little surprise that this remarkable residence has already secured its place among Greece’s finest hotel suites.

Food lovers will also find plenty to celebrate. AMOH features eight restaurants and bars showcasing the best of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine alongside international flavours. Whether enjoying freshly caught seafood overlooking the coastline, relaxed poolside dining or refined evening gastronomy, every meal celebrates the island’s exceptional produce and culinary traditions.
Wellness is another cornerstone of the AMOH experience. The resort’s ELISPA Wellness Retreat combines holistic therapies with premium facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, treatment suites, Technogym fitness equipment, yoga, reformer Pilates and bespoke wellness programmes inspired by the natural ingredients and traditions of Greece.
We caught up with the team behind this remarkable resort to find out a little more about what their plans were going forward :
1 AMOH has quickly become one of the most talked-about new luxury resorts in Europe. What was the original vision for the resort, and how have you ensured that vision has remained at the heart of everything you’ve created?
The vision for AMOH Rhodes was to create a private haven, an island within an island where both the design and guest experience are truly rooted in the heritage of Rhodes. Building the resort on a private peninsula that provides unobstructed sea views, near the historic city of Lindos was fundamental in achieving this vision. By choosing Rhodian design elements like pebbled mosaics, traditional pottery and the use of the local stone extracted from the ancient on-site quarry, the resort connects to the destination it belongs to. Beyond architecture, the local experiences offered, carry the vision of honouring Rhodes.
2 Every great resort has a story behind it. What were the biggest challenges you faced during the planning and development of AMOH, and how did overcoming those challenges shape the guest experience we see today?
One of the defining moments during development came when the ruins of the ancient quarry were uncovered on the site. Construction paused while we worked closely with the Greek Antiquities Department to evaluate and excavate with care to ensure the preservation of this remarkable discovery. Rather than seeing this as an obstacle, the quarry has not only become an integral part of the AMOH Rhodes experience, but it also further strengthens the resort’s connection to place and history. Today, Cava di Pietra Italian Restaurant, meaning ‘stone quarry’ in Italian, offers guests the opportunity to dine beside this magnificent site overlooking the sea.
3 Luxury travellers increasingly seek authentic experiences rather than simply five-star facilities. How does AMOH balance world-class luxury with a genuine connection to the culture, history and natural beauty of Rhodes?
For us, luxury and authenticity go hand in hand. The connection to the culture, history and natural beauty of Rhodes is evident in every corner of the resort, through inspired interiors as well as in the experiences we offer. From Greek rituals in the spa and the rich culinary identity that Rhodes reflected in our restaurants to the epicurean experiences, every touchpoint celebrates the vivid tradition on the island. Our guests can immerse themselves in olive product tastings, guided tours exploring the art of olive pressing, and sunset aperitivo by the firepit inspired by locality.
4 Being nominated for a World Travel Award so soon after opening is a remarkable achievement. What does this recognition mean to your team, and what do you believe has resonated most strongly with both guests and industry professionals?
Receiving nominations so soon after opening feels extremely rewarding for the entire team at AMOH Rhodes. Being recognised for the time, effort and dedication that went into bringing the resort to life. More importantly, it means that in its few months of operation the resort has already been embraced by guests and industry professionals for its unique setting, personalised hospitality and thoughtful design. To see AMOH Rhodes already becoming part of the visitors’ Rhodian experience is something we are very proud of.
5 The hospitality industry is constantly evolving. What emerging trends do you believe will define luxury travel over the next five to ten years, and how is AMOH positioning itself to stay ahead of those expectations?
We believe experiential travel will become more of a need in luxury travel. The travellers of today, want to experience the destinations they visit fully, engaging with local history, customs, gastronomy and culture which has always been part of the resort’s philosophy and approach but we continuously strive to expand the destination-inspired experience.
6 Your team plays a vital role in delivering memorable guest experiences. What is the ethos you instil in your staff, and how do you ensure every guest receives the warm, personalised service that luxury travellers now expect?
At AMOH Rhodes, luxury is not only about exceptional surroundings but also being welcomed, understood and recognised. We encourage our team to create personal connections, while paying attention to detail and being mindful of individual preferences. Greek hospitality starts with genuine care and we aim to give our guests both effortless and memorable personalised experiences through tailored service.
7 Looking ahead, are there any exciting developments, new guest experiences or enhancements planned for AMOH that will further strengthen its position as one of the Mediterranean’s premier luxury destinations?
As the resort evolves and continues to solidify its position as a premier Mediterranean luxury destination, our focus is to make the guest journey even more experiential and enriched. We plan to further provide authentic experiences that carry a sense of place, through gastronomy, traditions and activities while maintaining the standards of luxury the resort has already set on the island.
8 Finally, if you could describe AMOH in just one sentence to someone considering their first visit to Rhodes, what would you want them to know about the experience that awaits them?
A secluded sanctuary where refined luxury is connected to the land and timeless spirit of Rhodes.

Its nomination for Europe’s Leading New Resort places AMOH among the continent’s most exciting recent hotel openings, recognising not only its luxurious facilities but also its ambition to redefine hospitality on one of Greece’s most celebrated islands. Meanwhile, the Presidential Suite’s nomination highlights the resort’s commitment to creating exceptional accommodation that rivals the finest luxury hotels anywhere in Europe.
For travellers planning an escape to Rhodes, AMOH offers the perfect balance between exploration and indulgence. The UNESCO-listed medieval city of Rhodes, the whitewashed beauty of Lindos and countless hidden beaches lie within easy reach, while the resort itself provides every reason to simply slow down, savour the views and immerse yourself in authentic Greek hospitality.
As the 2026 World Travel Awards approach, AMOH is already proving that it is far more than another luxury hotel opening. It is an exciting new benchmark for Rhodes—one where world-class design, meaningful local connections and exceptional guest experiences come together to create one of the Mediterranean’s most compelling new luxury destinations.
