Travel & Tourism set to inject over $2.6 billion into U.S. economy
The latest Economic Impact Report (EIR) from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), which represents the global Travel & Tourism private sector, reveals that the U.S. Travel & Tourism sector is projected to contribute over $2.6 billion in gross domestic product (GDP) to the U.S. economy over the next decade.
Travel sector to create six million U.S. jobs
The WTTC calls for immediate action by the U.S. to open borders to international travellers to enable a return to pre-pandemic levels. The tourism body also predicts the travel sector can contribute over 9% to U.S. GDP and 6 million new jobs over the next decade with the support of the new U.S. National Travel and Tourism Strategy.
Influential speakers revealed for WTTC Sustainability & Investment Summit
The World Travel & Tourism Council has unveiled the speakers for its Sustainability & Investment Summit in Puerto Rico. Environmental activist Alexandra Cousteau, and 41st Treasurer of the U.S. Rosario Marin, will speak at the upcoming event, which will bring together world leaders to analyse the challenges facing the travel sector.
