Best Western Hotels & Resorts has acquired WorldHotels from Associated Luxury Hotels. The group represents a collection of approximately 300 hotels and resorts around the world.

Worldhotels has announced its expansion into Africa by joining forces with the Azalaï Hotels Group – the first African private hotel chain in West Africa. As part of the agreement, six Azalaï Hotels in Burkina Faso, Benin, Mali and Guinea-Bissau have joined Worldhotels’ global network of almost 500 hotels worldwide, taking advantage of the group’s 360° solution, which offers everything from technology to branding.
Worldhotels has reported a successful first half of the year with 31 hotels and a total of almost 6,000 rooms joining the international hotel group. The new hotels are located in key destinations and represent some of the world’s finest luxury hotels and resorts.

The frequent flyer programmes of Scandinavian Airlines and airBaltic as well as the South American loyalty coalition network Multiplus have become the latest partners for Worldhotels. The three partners EuroBonus, BalticMiles and Multiplus complement the largest selection of frequent flyer and loyalty programmes offered by any independent hotel group.
With Worldhotels, Room Key is gaining over 100,000 rooms in key destinations all around the world, especially strengthening the portfolio in Asia Pacific and Europe. Room Key was launched in January of this year by founding hotel partners Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, Inc. and Wyndham Hotel Group, part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, or their respective affiliates.
Worldhotels has launched a new Sustainability Programme aimed at assisting affiliate hotels to increase efficiency through sustainability. The initiative sees the publication of a group-wide Sustainability Policy, as well as the introduction of resources and tools to assist hotels in their individual efforts towards sustainability.
Worldhotels is looking back on an exceptionally successful 2011 and reports a 20 per cent increase in room night production compared to 2010. The group also added 70 new hotels with a total of 11,000 rooms to its growing portfolio of nearly 500 properties.
