Trump International Scotland recognised at World Golf Awards
Trump International Scotland has cemented its place among the world’s greatest golfing destinations after winning three headline honours at the 12th annual World Golf Awards. The New Course was named ‘World’s Best Golf Course 2025’ and ‘Europe’s Best New Golf Course 2025’, while Trump International Scotland was awarded ‘World’s Best Contribution to Golf Tourism Hospitality 2025’.
Madeira Wins Big at World Travel Awards and World Golf Awards
Madeira has once again enjoyed great award success at the World Travel Awards (WTA) and World Golf Awards 2024 respectively. For the 10th consecutive year, Madeira was crowned “World’s Leading Island Destination” at the 31st edition of the World Travel Awards, which took place at the Savoy Palace Hotel in Funchal. Madeira was also awarded “World’s Best Emerging Golf Destination” at the World Golf Awards (WGA) at the same venue, with two of the archipelago’s renowned golf clubs also receiving individual honours.
Portugal wins 19 awards at the World Travel Awards
After receiving the “World Golf Awards”, with Portugal being elected as the “Best Golf Destination in the World”, Funchal once again became the stage for the 31st edition of the “World Travel Awards”, from which Portugal emerged with 19 awards.

Tobiano Golf Course has once again been recognized as the best course in the country — again. The picturesque track that runs alongside Kamloops Lake was named the best course in Canada at the 2024 World Golf Awards, held in Portugal.

Portugal has won the award for “Best Golf Destination in the World” at the World Golf Awards 2024 in Funchal, and has also scooped the prize for “Best Golf Destination in Europe” for the third year running. The announcement came this afternoon, with Turismo de Portugal attributing the country’s success “to the integrated tourist experience, good air and land accessibility, exceptional hospitality, high-quality sports and hotel infrastructures that cater for different profiles of players (whether professionals or amateurs), and excellent value for money.”
Fairways and FunDays win big at World Golf Awards
Irish based Fairways and FunDays was awarded the title of World’s Best Golf Tour Operator at the prestigious World Golf Awards held in Madeira last night. This marks the first time an Irish company has won this award, surpassing some of the biggest names in global golf tourism. The World Golf Awards 2024 programme, celebrating its 11th Anniversary, received a record number of votes. The award results followed a year-long search for the world’s best golf tourism and hospitality brands, with votes from golf industry professionals and consumers alike.
