Kyoto City targets tourists as it expands free Wi-Fi network
Free Wi-Fi points across the city of Kyoto, Japan have been significantly increased in order to provide convenient internet access for locals, business travellers and especially tourists. Free Wi-Fi is now available at 385 locations, including 297 bus stops and 78 “Seven Eleven” convenience stores.
Norwegian State Railways connects to with on-board wi-fi
NSB, the major passenger rail company in Norway, has introduced wireless internet on 114 of its trains with at least 27 more to follow. The development is a boon in a country where numerous tunnels, mountains and limited mobile phone reception makes broadband connectivity a challenge.

Britain leads Europe in Internet access on trains
The UK is leading Europe in the race to get broadband wireless services onto trains, according to a new report from the consulting firm BWCS.
