Shanghai Disney Resort, the first Disney resort in Mainland China and the sixth worldwide, celebrated its historic grand opening, culminating one of Disney’s most ambitious projects ever. Rides closed at Disneyland following safety citation
Two rides at Disneyland in California remain closed today after the park received a safety citation. Space Mountain, Soarin’ Over California, and the Matterhorn were all closed on Saturday, with the latter since reopening.

Disney Co bails out Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris has been forced to secure a refinancing deal with the Walt Disney Company as debts continue to mount. Burbank, California-based Walt Disney Co is the majority shareholder in Euro Disney, with a 39.8 per cent stake.

Disney reports largest ever quarterly earnings
Walt Disney has reported a 31 per cent increase in third quarter profits to $1.01 per share, up from $0.77 in the prior-year quarter. “We had a phenomenal third quarter, delivering the largest quarterly earnings in the history of our company,” said Robert Iger, Walt Disney chief executive.

Disney links with Cameron for Avatar theme park experiences
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts has confirmed it will join forces with filmmaker James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of Avatar to life at its parks. Through an exclusive agreement, Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox, Disney will partner with Cameron and producing partner Jon Landau to create themed lands that will give theme park guests the opportunity to explore the mysterious universe of AVATAR first hand.
