IAG makes bid for remaining Vueling shares
International Airlines Group has confirmed it will make an offer to purchase the remaining shares in Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling. IAG presently controls 46 per cent of the carrier through its subsidiary Iberia.
Vueling launches new website
Vueling has launched its re-vamped and re-designed website. The new website will deliver greater usability and easier access to its most popular services including online check-in, making flight changes and the addition of extra luggage with just one click from the home page.
Vueling achieves an operating profit of 61 million Euros
Vueling achieved an operating profit (EBIT) of 60.8 million Euros in the third quarter of the year, a 2.4% increase compared to the third quarter of last year, despite the strong rise in the fuel price (+47.6% year-on-year). The net result for the period reached 41 million Euros.
Vueling increases the number of passengers carried in July by 22%
Vueling, the new generation ariline, has carried 1,415,363 passengers in July 2011. This represents a 22% raise compared to June 2010. The company has reached a load factor of 78.0%, 3.7 points higher than last year.
Vueling introduces new Edinburgh-Barcelona route
Vueling, the new-generation Spanish low-fare airline, will launch flights to Scotland on 24th June, 2010 with a three times weekly direct route between Edinburgh and Barcelona.
Vueling carried 8.2 million passengers in 2009
Vueling, the new-generation airline, carried 8.2 million passengers during 2009, with an average seat-load factor of 73.7% - a 3.4-point increase with regards to 2008.
