During the GoBeyond Summit, held in Cancún on September 24 and 27, NexusTours – the leading DMC in the Caribbean, Central America, and North America, and part of GoNexus Group, a leading experiences and mobility travel group, has announced a major step in its operational excellence strategy with an investment of over $4 million to expand its transport fleet across Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has today announced that it will manage a luxury beachfront resort with branded residences on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, on the Yucatan Peninsula. The resort is expected to open in 2028 and has been meticulously designed to respect the diversity of the environment and reflect local culture, blending serene architecture and exceptional craftsmanship with Mandarin Oriental’s renowned legendary service. Notably, acclaimed Mexican artist Bosco Sodi has been chosen as the art curator for this project.

More than 2,700 new hotels rooms were delivered in Dubai in the first half of 2024, with a further 10,100 set to come on to the market by the end of 2025, according to new research by leading real estate advisory group and property consultant, Cavendish Maxwell. Dubai added 12 hotels to its inventory between 1 January and 30 June 2024, bringing the total number of hospitality establishments to 716, with almost 149,750 rooms between them. Another 40 hotels are due for delivery between now and the end of next year, with 4,748 additional rooms expected in 2026 and 2027, according to Cavendish Maxwell’s H1 2024 hospitality market performance study

British Airways has signed a deal to purchase more than £9 million worth of innovative carbon removals credits in the United Kingdom and overseas as part of a six-year agreement. The deal is part of an ambitious drive to accelerate the airline’s climate change efforts between now and 2030. One ground-breaking scheme in Scotland will see CO2 emissions captured from whisky distilleries and repurposed into building materials. Another, spread across multiple locations in the UK, uses an enhanced rock weathering technique to lock away carbon for thousands of years. The airline will also purchase carbon removals credits from two companies specialising in high-durability reforestation projects, increasing the amount of forested land in Scotland and Wales.
