Brazil propels Latin American travel market to new heights
The Latin American travel market is experiencing robust growth, with Brazil leading the charge. According to a new report from Phocuswright, the leading travel industry research authority, the region’s travel market expanded for the third consecutive year in 2023, with gross bookings rising 29% to $70.1 billion. Brazil’s travel industry saw a remarkable 37% jump to $21.8 billion, fueled by growing stability, declining poverty levels, and improving economic conditions under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The country’s airlines, the largest travel supplier segment, carried 21 million international passengers, a 38% increase from the previous year.
TAP AIR PORTUGAL EARNS €117.8 MILLION IN THE THIRD QUARTER
The airline has announced its third quarter and cumulative earnings as of 30 September. Accumulated positive net income of €118.2 million (£98.9 million) in the first nine months of 2024. Operating revenues for the third quarter grew 2% compared to the same period of 2023, to €1,284 million (£1,074 million). In the first nine months of the year, operating revenues increased by 2.8% compared to the same period last year, to a total of €3,253 million (£2,723 million). Maintenance revenues stand out, which grew 40% in the first nine months of 2024. Recurring EBITDA of €744.8 million (£623.5 million) and recurring EBIT of €377.8 million (£316.2 million) in September 2024, with margins of 23% and 12%.

American Airlines is ready for the Thanksgiving holiday and expects to welcome nearly 8.3 million customers across more than 77,000 flights. This comes on the heels of a strong fall travel season, when the airline canceled the fewest flights in the industry during October.
