New South Wales has had one of its most successful business events years ever, hosting 91 events worth almost $220 million to the State’s economy, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, announced today.

ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 4.77 percent* year-over-year in the first month of 2013 compared to the same period last year, totalling $7.6 billion vs. $7.2 billion in 2012.

Sharp rise in travel to Germany during the first ten months of 2012
Travel to Germany is increasing at a faster rate than ever. According to statistics from the Federal Statistical Office, overnight stays by international visitors in accommodation establishments with more than ten beds totalled 59.8 million in the first ten months of 2012. This equates to an increase of 8.3 per cent compared with the same period of the previous year.
