Quito leads winners at World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony
Quito Tourism has led winners at the World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony 2016, taking the title of Latin America’s Leading Destination for the fourth consecutive year. Also among the winners at the red carpet event hosted by Swissôtel Lima was PromPerú, recognised by World Travel Awards voters as South America’s Leading Tourist Board for the first time.

AccorHotels to acquire FRHI for $2.9bn in cash and shares deal
AccorHotels has signed an agreement for the acquisition of FRHI Holdings, parent of the Fairmont, Raffles, and Swissôtel brand. “This is an outstanding opportunity to add three prestigious brands – Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel – to our portfolio, and a great step forward for AccorHotels,” said Sébastien Bazin, chairman, AccorHotels.
AHIC 2015: FRHI reveals plans to triple residential portfolio
FRHI Hotels & Resorts has announced at Arabian Travel Market that its global portfolio of branded residential projects will triple by 2018 as part of an ongoing expansion strategy. Currently operating 16 residential projects across its worldwide portfolio, FRHI has an additional 35 residential projects in varying stages of development across its three brands, including locations in Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, China, and Turkey.
FRHI Hotels & Resorts outlines plans to double footprint in Egypt
FRHI Hotels & Resorts has begun the development of two new hotel projects in Egypt while also releasing new details of its previously announced tri-brand hotel development in Sharm El Sheikh. FRHI signed agreements with Citystars Properties, a leader in the development of high quality mixed-use real estate in Egypt, to brand and operate all five projects. Upon completion, the new hotels will more than double the luxury hotel company’s footprint in Egypt.
