World Hot Air Balloon Championship welcomed to Brazil
Coloured dots painted the skies above Rio Claro, São Paulo, last week as the city hosted the 21st World Hot Air Balloon Championship, which was being held in Latin America for the first time, with the support of Embratur. Rio Claro has hosted various important hot air balloon championships in recent years, such as the stage of the Brazil Cup, two editions of the Brazilian Championship, the first South American Championship and the Ibero-American Championship.

Athletes arrive ahead of Commonwealth Games opening in Glasgow
Thousands of athletes and officials have now arrived in Glasgow as excitement builds ahead of tonight’s official opening ceremony at Celtic Park. More than 1,000 athletes from 25 countries arrived for the Games at Glasgow Airport on Tuesday, including teams from Bangladesh, New Zealand, India and Singapore.
ISF World Cup Final heads to Abu Dhabi
The International Sailing Federation’s World Cup Final, the world’s pinnacle sailing regatta contested by the best Olympic-class competitors, is on its way to the United Arab Emirates. Following a multi-stakeholder approach by Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club with the support of the UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, ISAF has agreed to stage the ISAF Sailing World Cup Final in the UAE capital for the next six years, starting this year.

Travel provider Thomson Sport, part of one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies, TUI Travel PLC, has signed a three-year deal with Premier League champions, Manchester City FC, becoming the club’s official supplier of supporter travel. Etihad Airways signs sponsorship deal with Melbourne City Football Club
Melbourne City Football Club has announced Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, as its new principal partner. The five-year deal and new team kit were unveiled today by Melbourne City FC chief executive Scott Munn and Etihad president James Hogan at the club’s AAMI Park home stadium earlier.
England and Wales Cricket Board links with Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways and the England and Wales Cricket Board today announced a three-year partnership deal which will see the carrier become the first ever official airline partner of the England Cricket Teams. The sponsorship agreement will see all England national teams across men’s, women’s, age-group and disability cricket, fly with Etihad Airways and experience its award-winning products and services.
