Southwest Airlines Co. announced today that the Company flew 2,069.6 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January 1998, a 3.9 percent decrease from the 2,154.4 million RPMs flown in January 1997. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 7.2 percent to 3,835.0 million from the January 1997 level of 3,578.0 million. The load factor for the month was 54.0 percent, compared to 60.2 percent for the same period of a year ago.
