Vietjet launches new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Seoul
Vietjet has announced the launch of a new route linking Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and the capital city of South Korea, Seoul. With a frequency of seven return flights per week, the inaugural flight, which will take off on November 7th, will depart Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 00.15 and arrive at Incheon International Airport at 07.25.
Sewol ferry captain jailed for gross negligence
Lee Joon-seok, the captain of the Sewol ferry which sank of South Korea in April, has been jailed for gross negligence. He was handed a sentence of 36 years in prison following the disaster, which claimed more than 300 lives. The ferry had been carrying 476 people when it went down.

A total of 108 people are now confirmed dead following the South Korean ferry last week as divers continue to recover bodies from the stricken vessel. More than 190 people are still missing following the disaster, with many presumed to be trapped in the sunken hull of the ferry.

As many as 300 people are missing following a ferry disaster off the coast of South Korea. The vessel, named Sewol, was carrying 459 people, mainly school students, when it capsized on route from the port of Incheon, in the north-west, to the southern resort island of Jeju.
