South African Airways launches new trade website
South African Airways has launched a brand new trade website aimed at providing trade partners with up-to-date information on South African’s national airline. The site has been designed to serve as a useful one-stop-shop for the trade to use and includes details on SAA’s routes and fleet, plus SAA contact information, FAQs as well as the latest news from the airline.
SAA brings Airbus A330-200 to London-Johannesburg route
From March 28th South African Airways will be operating a newer aircraft, the Airbus A330-200 on scheduled flights between London Heathrow and Johannesburg. The newer aircraft replaces the current A340-600 used on the route and will operate on SA235, the first of SAA’s two daily departures at 19.00 and selected SA237 flights, which departs at 21:00.

South African Airways, the leading carrier on the African continent, celebrates its 80th year of gracing the global skies. SAA which was founded in 1934 celebrated its 80th anniversary this month.
South African Airways resumes direct Johannesburg-New York flights
South African Airways has announced that it is resuming its popular non-stop flights between Johannesburg and New York – JFK International Airport. The non-stop flight will resume on March 9th, nearly three weeks ahead of its original schedule of March 28th.

Boeing and South African Airways have announced they will work together to develop and implement a sustainable aviation biofuel supply chain in southern Africa, a first for the continent. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding for sustainable aviation biofuel supply chain development at the Corporate Council on Africa’s 9th Biennial US-Africa Business, attended by executives from leading United States and African firms and government representatives from several countries.

Etihad launches South African Airways codeshare
Etihad Airways has commenced codeshare services with South African Airways following regulatory approval, which enables both carriers to offer codeshare and interline services to key destinations on each others’ route networks. Effective immediately, and under the first phase of the codeshare agreement, Etihad Airways passengers can now travel on Etihad Airways’ marketed flights from Johannesburg to four major destinations on the SAA network including: Cape Town, Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth.

Etihad Airways inks deal with South African Airways
Etihad Airways and South African Airways have signed a memorandum of understanding allowing the two airlines to introduce a comprehensive range of codeshare and interline air services as well as explore synergy and efficiency opportunities. Initially Etihad Airways will place its ‘EY’ code on flights from Johannesburg to ten South African Airways destinations across South Africa and the African continent as well as South America.
Air Seychelles launches codeshare deal with South Africa Airways
Air Seychelles has announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with South African Airways, the national airline of the Republic of South Africa. The first phase of the agreement will see South African Airways place its “SA” code on Air Seychelles’ non-stop flights between Johannesburg and Seychelles.
