Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is opening of its latest hotel in China in Hefei, a city founded as a county seat in the Qin Dynasty between China’s largest river, the Yangtze River, and the freshwater Chaohu Lake. Built to complement the striking structures, which form the modern skyline of Hefei, the 27-storey Shangri-La hotel is centrally located on Suixi Road and to both the commercial area and leisure attractions.
Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London, has opened its doors marking Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ first property in the United Kingdom. Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London is the Hong Kong-based hotel group’s 83rd hotel and third in Europe, following the openings of Shangri-La Hotel, Paris and Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul in 2010 and 2013, respectively.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has released the Android version of its smartphone application. The free mobile app is available in English or Simplified Chinese and offers all the functionality of the luxury hotel group’s website, plus additional features such as location-based offers.
On the back of the recent launch of a new website, Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is unveiling the first phase of its mobile application for iPhone which but will provide easy access and booking for Shangri-La’s 72 hotels and resorts.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced its “Sustainable Seafood Policy” including the commitment to cease serving shark fin in all of its operated restaurants as well as accepting new orders for shark fin products in banqueting with immediate effect.
Shangri-La is to build and operate a multi-use complex on Hung Luen Rd at Hung Hom Bay in Hong Kong to include a Traders Hotel as well as retail and leisure facilities. The announcement followed the official confirmation that Shangri-La won the bid for the land acquisition at a government auction.
