Gleneagles Hotel links with Ruinart for 2015 culinary extravaganza
The Gleneagles Hotel has announced it will be collaborating with esteemed champagne house, Ruinart, for a sparkling weekend of gastronomic indulgence on Saturday April 11th 2015. Hosted by Gleneagles Resort head chef Alan Gibb and Frederic Panaiotis, chef de caves at Ruinart, the oldest champagne house in Reims, founded in 1729, the day’s activities are a must for any foodie.
Qatar Airways to offer direct daily flights to Edinburgh
Qatar Airways will operate a daily direct scheduled service from Edinburgh Airport to Doha’s Hamad International Airport from May 1st 2015. The announcement comes just six months after the successful launch of the five-weekly service on the route and reinforces the airline’s commitment to add additional frequencies on the route, which it announced at the launch.
Commonwealth Games drives hotel bookings bonanza in Glasgow
Hotel occupancy in Glasgow soared during the Commonwealth Games, new figures have revealed. The monthly LJ Forecaster report, from tourism market research specialists LJ Research, shows that average occupancy across the nine nights of the Games in July reached 97.3 per cent.

Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker has met with Scottish first minister, Alex Salmond, to discuss the launch of the new services and Scotland’s potential growth prospects.
