Sandals to expand Royal Plantation in Jamaica
Sandals Resorts has announced plans to expand its five-star Royal Plantation brand with the 2010 opening of the 130-unit Royal Plantation Dragon Bay in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

Wednesday night (21/09/05) saw a gathering of journalists at the penthouse of the Dorchester hotel on London’s prestigious Park Lane. The occasion was the launch of ‘a new era’ for Caribbean mega-chain Sandals, who unveiled a series of fresh initiatives including the Signature Collection and a partnership with Preston Bailey, the internationally celebrated wedding planner. Preston was scheduled to make an appearance at the bash but unfortunately missed a connecting flight. As ever Sandals founder Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart was on hand to keep the party going!

Sandals Acquires Dragon Bay Beach Resort
Sandals Resorts International assumed ownership of the Dragon Bay BeachResort in Port Antonio, Jamaica on Friday, March 22. This follows thesuccessful completion of negotiations with the former owners Albert AbelaCorporation and SSI Cayman Limited last week. The resort will betemporarily closed to facilitate an extensive refurbishing andmodernization exercise and is expected to reopen for business this Fall.During its closure, Dragon Bay will be transformed into a sophisticatedall-inclusive resort of the standard of Beaches Royal Plantation, whichrecently acquired a Five Star Diamond classification.
