Beginning in May, US Airways customers will be able to enjoy seamless travel between the United States and Qatar, thanks to a new codeshare agreement between Qatar Airways and US Airways. The agreement is subject to both United States and foreign government approval. A filing in support of the carriers’ new agreement was submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation this week.

Qatar Airways has reduced its fuel surcharge on flights in its international network. Passengers purchasing tickets to and from destinations served by the Doha-based airline will now be able to take advantage of the new lower supplements.

Qatar Airways has taken delivery of first Boeing 777-200 Long Range aircraft, which made its maiden journey from Seattle to Doha in just under 15 hours. The aircraft - Qatar Airways’ sixth Boeing 777 - takes the airline’s fleet size to 66 aircraft, in just the airline’s 12th year in operation.

Qatar Airways has announced an increase in capacity on its Doha-Bahrain route with the addition of five flights a week, beginning June 1.
