Qatar Airways has enhanced its operations with the acquisition of comprehensive aircraft recovery equipment – the first airline in the world to own the complete state-of-the-art kit. There are just 11 complete kits globally, but parts within each kit are owned separately by individual airlines and airports worldwide.

Qatar Airways has extended its Middle East footprint with the launch of scheduled flights to the city of Erbil in northern Iraq. The Doha-based airline is operating four-flights-a-week non-stop on the route – the first of two new Iraqi services being launched within two weeks. Effective June 7th, Qatar Airways will start flights to the capital Baghdad, also operating four-times-a-week.

Qatar Airways links with Flexjet for private jet service
Qatar Airways has announced a strategic alliance with fractional jet programme provider Flexjet to offer customers access to over 5,000 destinations beyond the Doha-based airline’s four North American gateways. Flexjet is aircraft manufacturer Bombardier’s fractional ownership business, providing access to more than 80 modern executive aircraft. Aircraft available as part of the Flexjet Connect programme, are operated by United States air carrier Jet Solutions.
Zagreb added to Qatar Airways European schedule
Qatar Airways has celebrated the launch of its 30th European destination with daily scheduled flights to the Croatian capital Zagreb. A traditional water salute at Zagreb Airport marked the arrival of Flight QR947 from Doha, the airline’s capital in the State of Qatar.
New Doha International Airport to open in December
The New Doha International Airport is expected to officially open in December, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker revealed during the Arabian Travel Market. The new airport, which is now estimated to cost $15.5 billion, will replace Doha International Airport as Qatar’s only international airport.
