A new cargo airplane designed by Boeing will make its international debut at Paris today after the first transatlantic flight of a commercial aircraft powered by sustainable aviation fuel. The Boeing 747-8 Freighter landed at Paris Le Bourget Airport earlier, piloted by Capt. Keith Otsuka and Capt. Rick Braun and Cargolux Capt. Sten Rossby.

Air Lease Corporation has confirmed it will purchase up to 33 airplanes from aviation giant Boeing at the Paris Air Show. The agreement calls for 14 firm orders and four options for Next-Generation 737-800s, as well as five 777-300ERs (Extended Range) and four 787-9 Dreamliners.

The newest member of the Boeing range of commercial jetliners made its international air show debut earlier when the first 747-8 Intercontinental touched down at Paris Le Bourget Airport. The 747-8 - the longest passenger plane in the world, coming in at 76.4 metres (over 250 feet) - landed at a windy Le Bourget ahead of the biannual Paris Air Show.

Airbus has signed an exclusive deal with Rolls-Royce to power the enhanced A350-1000 aircraft at the Paris Air Show. The new higher thrust version of the Trent XWB, which is the most advanced civil aircraft engine on offer in the world, will deliver 97,000lbs maximum thrust to the aircraft.

Rolls-Royce has been among the early winners at the annual Paris Air Show, with the global power systems company concluding a to $2.2 billion contract with TAM Airlines of Brazil. The deal will see the Derby-based manufacturer provide Trent XWB engines for Airbus A350-XWB aircraft on order with the airline.

The aviation industry has finally been served some good news as Wizz Air has said it is placing an order with Airbus for 50 short-haul planes, as it attempts to become one the largest low-cost carriers in Europe.The order rounds off a hugely successful week for Airbus at the Paris Air Show. The Toulouse-based manufacturer has secured firm orders for more than 100 jets, despite the current turmoil within the industry.
