Courtyard by Marriott announces new prototype for Europe
Marriott International has revealed a new European design model for its upper-moderate Courtyard by Marriott hotels and announced plans to significantly grow the brand across Europe. The first two hotels to debut the new design will be the 194-room Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen and the 230-room room Courtyard by Marriott Cologne.
Marriott announces 100th hotel in China
Marriott is seeking to bolster its position as a leader in the hospitality sector in China with the signing of its 100th hotel – the 345-room JW Marriott Hotel Shenyang. Marriott International, which currently operates 56 hotels in China has a pipeline of confirmed projects totalling 44 hotels across it brand portfolio.
Residence Inn moves into UK with Edinburgh opening
Marriott International has opened the first Residence Inn branded property in the United Kingdom, the 107-room Residence Inn Edinburgh. The hotel, operated by Marriott International under a management agreement with Gladedale Ventures, is centrally located in the Scottish capital’s new Quartermile development.

JW Marriott Manama offers new luxury hotel in Bahrain
Marriott International has outlined details of the new JW Marriott Manama in the Kingdom of Bahrain following a management agreement with owner Khaleejcapita. The hotel, to open in 2016, will have 274 rooms and suites and 102 residences in Bahrain Bay, adjacent to Bahrain Financial Harbour and opposite the diplomatic quarter.
