Emirates continues to grow operations at Manchester Airport

Emirates revealed the ongoing demand for its Manchester to Dubai route, reporting a 9.5 per cent annual growth on 2015. A total of 610,000 passengers have flown between the two cities this year, and Emirates is all set to hit the record milestone of 1,000,000 during the 2016 financial year.

More than six million passengers flew through MAG’s airports in August, as the summer season continued to surpass expectations. At Manchester, 2,934,393 passengers travelled through the airport last month, an increase of nine per cent on August 2015. That means that Manchester’s 12 month rolling total now stands at 24,605,575 passengers.

MAG USA has been awarded a contract to design, build and operate an Escape Lounge at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut. MAG USA is a subsidiary of MAG, owner of Stansted and Manchester airports in the UK. From March 21st, trams will run from Firswood to Manchester Airport from 03.40 every day. The new service will see the first tram arrive at approximately 03.40 - in advance of 04:00 shift starts, which generally sees a large number of employees starting work.

Manchester Airport has outlined its vision how it can help drive the creation of Northern Powerhouse, as managing director Ken O’Toole unveiled a new fly-through video showing how the airport will look in ten years following a £1 billion investment. Shaheen Air will launch European flights next month, with the start of a new service between Manchester Airport and Islamabad in Pakistan. The Pakistani airline will offer three services a week to Benazir Bhutto International Airport from March 15th A330-200 aircraft. The services will operate inbound on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
