Malaysia Airlines resumes daily Dubai service
Malaysia Airlines will be adding Dubai back to its network effective 5 August 2013. The Kuala Lumpur-Dubai return service will be mounted daily via MH162 and MH163 using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft that offers a total capacity of 282 seats in each flight, equivalent to 3,948 seats weekly.
Malaysia Airlines adds daytime service to Mumbai
Malaysia Airlines is increasing its frequency from Kuala Lumpur into Mumbai to12 times weekly effective 3 June 2013. Following greater demand from the market, one additional service will be made to the current daytime schedule of services put in by the national carrier since September 2012. Starting June 2013, daytime services from Kuala Lumpur to Mumbai on flight MH174 depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Monday is the new day in the schedule.
Malaysia Airlines to offer A380 services to Hong Kong
Malaysia Airlines will commence a daily Airbus A380 service on the Kuala Lumpur - Hong Kong route effective May 1ST 2013, offering UK passengers a daily A380 connection from London Heathrow through to Hong Kong. The 494-seater super jumbo will be replacing one of the current B737-800 double daily services on this route.
Malaysia Airlines rolls out iPads to crew
Malaysia Airlines cabin crew have begun using iPads to enhance in-flight services to customers travelling on the airline’s A380 flights. The iPads are part of SITA’s innovative digital cabin crew solution, CrewTablet, which will enable crew members to quickly and easily access passenger and operational data.

Malaysia Airlines has launched a new Airbus A380 scheduled service between KL International Airport and Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport. Paris is the second city, after London, to be operated using the A380 in the national airline’s network.

Malaysia Airlines orders up to 36 ATR 72-600s
ATR and the flag carrier Malaysia Airlines today signed a purchase agreement for 20 firm ATR 72-600s, plus options for 16 additional aircraft. The deal is valued at over US$ 840 million, including options. The signature of this new contract follows a Memorandum of Understanding announced by the airline in December 2012. With today’s signature, Malaysia Airlines brings to 42 the total of firm ATR 72s purchased since the initial purchase agreement in 2007.

From February 14th 2013, passengers flying Malaysia Airlines will enjoy an additional ten kilograms free baggage allowance in every class. Economy Class passengers will receive 30 kilograms standard baggage allowance, Business Class guests will be entitled to 40 kilograms and those in First Class will have 50 kilograms.
